Linking Research and Teaching by Studying the History of Mathematics

Research in History of Mathematics does not exist for its own sake and cannot be done without experience. With a look back at the history of our science, we can also give impetus to the search for new results in a specific field and make our lessons more interesting. Often the correlations of different disciplines or reasons for their development become clear only in this way. Some examples from the past and ideas for the use of experience in research and teaching for future research planning in History of Mathematics serve to illustrate this.
